Going into this year I had the best intentions to write a blog post on a weekly (if not more often) basis. I had grand plans… a weekly post on music I love, including new-to-me artists and another on an interview with a fearless female athlete or another good role model for young women.

And then she came along… an eight-week-old Portuguese Water Dog we named Fergie.

I’ve never owned a puppy and boy is she a lot of work. But she’s soooo dag on cute!! Between stalking her to make sure she doesn’t have any accidents in the house, taking her out every couple of hours, do my day job (which is crazy busy right now), attend to my job as number one cheerleader for my kids at their sporting events and sneak in a run or some other athletic endeavor on a daily basis. I am not left with much time to write, let alone blog. Oh, I forgot to mention that I’m taking a kick butt workshop called One Story Many Voices by Devon Ellington on Savvy Authors. In this course, I have to write a new short story every couple days to submit to the instructor for critique. Coming from a perfectionist who likes to let a story percolate before diving right in, I am way out of my comfort zone. However – it’s a great challenge and helping me add some additional tools to my proverbial Writer’s Toolbox.

Needless to say, my life is H-E-C-T-I-C. But filled with the joy as one of my former colleagues would say.
