About Me

I write young adult fiction with strong, athletic, female protagonists who are fulfilling their dreams, of course with a little (err lots of) trouble along the way.

I ran track in high school and was lucky enough to earn a full scholarship for college.  While attending Villanova University, I was a member of two NCAA Division I Champion Cross Country Teams and earned NCAA All-American Honors six times in both track and cross country.  Post collegiately, I made the '96 Olympic Trials final in the 800M where I placed 7th.  I represented the United States at the USA vs. Great Britain meet and while running professionally, was sponsored by Goldwin Athletics.  My personal bests on the track are:

  • 400M - 54.15 (52.8 relay split)
  • 800M - 2:00.46
  • 1000M - 2:37.44
  • Mile - 4:37.57

I dream of buying a log cabin in a small artsy town in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  But for now, I live in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains with my hubby and two young kids.  (Of course, they'd be moving with me.)  Aside from writing, when I'm not working my day job, I love hanging with the family, going for a run, baking homemade granola or reading a book from my endless "To Be Read" pile.

FORBIDDEN SECRETS

YA Paranormal

Kyra focuses on a full-ride to college and defending her state cross-country title.  Now plagued by terrifying visions, hiding her psychic curse and avoiding the label “class freak” becomes priority number-one.  Until she falls for Aidan.

In this Romeo & Juliet meets Highlander, when Kyra becomes the pawn for one rogue immortal pursuing a sacred artifact protected by Aidan’s clan of Celtic immortals, and another seeking to settle a centuries-old blood feud; Aidan must choose between loyalty to his family or protecting the girl who’s claimed his heart.  However, Kyra’s secret may cost her everything, including the boy she loves.

Sprinkled with the magic of Celtic legend and the intrigue of Scottish history, this story placed 3rd in the 2011 Four Seasons Contest.
